Equal Opportunity & Anti-Discrimination
Last updated 13 June 2026
Our commitment
FinTalent is committed to equal employment opportunity in everything we do. The best hire is the right person for the role, and talent is found in people of every background. This commitment applies both to the candidates we represent to our clients and to how we run our own business.
Selection on merit
We assess and present candidates on merit alone: their skills, experience, track record, potential and fit for the specific role and business. We never make a recruitment decision, or recommend that a client make one, on the basis of a personal attribute that has nothing to do with the job.
Attributes we will not discriminate on
In line with the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and Australian anti-discrimination law, we do not discriminate on the basis of:
- Age.
- Race, colour, national or ethnic origin, or immigrant status.
- Sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or intersex status.
- Marital or relationship status, pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Family or carer responsibilities.
- Disability or medical condition.
- Religion or religious belief.
- Political opinion.
- Irrelevant criminal record.
- Social origin, or trade union membership and activity.
This reflects the protections in the Fair Work Act 2009, the Age Discrimination Act 2004, the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, the Racial Discrimination Act 1975, the Sex Discrimination Act 1984, and the equal opportunity laws of each state and territory.
Working with our clients
We expect the businesses we partner with to share this commitment. We will not act on a hiring brief or selection criterion that is discriminatory or unlawful, and we will say so plainly if we are asked to. Where it helps, we work with clients to shape role requirements and selection processes that are inclusive, lawful and focused on genuine job requirements.
Reasonable adjustments
We make reasonable adjustments so every candidate can take part in our process on a fair footing. How we do that during the application and interview stages is set out in our Accessibility Statement.
Raising a concern
If you believe you have been treated unfairly by us, or in a process we have run, please contact Joe Shephard at joe@fintalent.com.au or +61 412 053 885. We take every concern seriously and will respond promptly. You can also raise a complaint with the Australian Human Rights Commission or your state or territory equal opportunity body.
