Job description

The short version

A specialist green mortgage brokerage writes home loans for energy-efficient homes and the owners moving in that direction. The leads come to them through a strong inbound funnel and a growing installer-referral network. They need a residential broker who can pick up qualified enquiries, run them cleanly to settlement, and care about the green-finance angle, not just the rate at the top of the page.

Why this one is different

Most broker roles ask you to build your own book and write across anything that walks through the door. This one does not.

The brokerage runs a panel of 60-plus lenders, from climate-focused mutuals through to the Big 4, but the pitch to the client is specific - access the lowest rates available through green home loans by qualifying the home's energy efficiency. That focus is the wedge. The client trusts the brand. The product is consistent. The work is residential and only residential.

A dedicated tech and processing team sits behind the brokers, so you spend your day on advice and structuring instead of admin. Decisions get made in hours, not weeks. The founders are the people you deal with day to day.

What you will be doing

  • Taking warm, inbound enquiries from homeowners refinancing or buying who want to qualify for a green home loan

  • Structuring residential lending across a 60-plus lender panel, with green-loan eligibility front of mind

  • Walking clients through the energy-efficiency requirements (Residential Efficiency Scorecard, solar / battery / heat pump pathways) without making it complicated

  • Matching each client to the right lender for their situation, not just the cheapest headline rate

  • Keeping deals moving from enquiry through settlement, with the processing team carrying the admin load

  • Holding the client relationship long enough to settle, and long enough to refer

About you

You have written residential mortgages before and you can run a deal end-to-end. You hold Cert IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking, with or in transition to Purple Circle aggregator accreditation. Onboarding pathway is Broker-Loan Writer for tenured brokers, or the Pathway Mentee route if you are earlier in your career - both work here.

Beyond the technical side, you are:

  • Genuinely interested in the green-finance angle, not zealous, just curious enough to learn it well

  • Sharp enough to read a client's situation quickly and structure the right deal

  • Comfortable working independently from home with the discipline to keep deals moving

  • In it for the long run

Experience with complex residential lending (self-employed, multi-property, trusts) is a plus, not a requirement.

Founder-led, recently brand-relaunched, with a growing inbound funnel and a distribution partnership with one of the country's largest solar and battery quoting platforms. The team is small and tight - co-founders involved in candidate selection, broker decisions and client outcomes directly. The culture rewards brokers who care about the client outcome and the wider mission, not just the next deal.

This is a hybrid role. Most days from home, with the option to work from a Sydney branch or co-working space when it suits you.
