State of Play · Q1 FY27 (July to September 2026)
Who's hiring in broking and lending, and what they're paying
Every quarter we put the lending market, the broker channel and our own count of broking and lending job ads side by side, with the quarter before. Q1 FY27 is out now.
What's inside
-
Ads for core broking roles rose 74% on Q4 FY26. Same five titles, counted the same way in both quarters.
-
Pay held. The median advertised broking package was $100k in both quarters, and fewer than half of all ads named a number.
-
Brokers wrote a record 81.6% of new home loans in the June quarter, with the cash rate at 4.60% after the 29 September rise.
Every figure is sourced in the report. These three come from FinTalent analysis of advertised roles (Apr to Sep 2026), MFAA / Comparator (3 Sep 2026) and the RBA (29 Sep 2026).
