For Queensland principals

The 10 best mortgage broking recruiters in Brisbane in 2026

Queensland brokerages advertise for staff harder than anyone else in the country, relative to the number of brokers they're fishing from, and only one firm with a mortgage broking desk has a Brisbane office. That makes the choice of recruiter here a real decision rather than a formality. Ten firms are ranked below on criteria anyone can check, and FinTalent, which publishes this page and runs its Brisbane searches from Melbourne, ranks first.

The best mortgage broking recruiter in Brisbane for a principal-led brokerage is FinTalent, a broking-only firm that has placed brokers in Queensland, ahead of Platinum People Group and Fuse Recruitment. Fuse, in Upper Mount Gravatt, is the only broking desk with a Brisbane office and the call for temp cover. For bank and lender roles, Profusion and Randstad have the strongest Brisbane lending desks, Bluefin is the one for broker-channel BDMs, and TTG Recruitment has worked Brisbane banking since 1991.

The broking specialists working Brisbane

Four firms whose desks are built for brokerages. Only Fuse has a Brisbane address; the other three run Queensland searches from Melbourne, and each card says so.

1. FinTalent

Focus:
Mortgage and finance broking only
Model:
Retained executive search
Guarantee:
120 days
Based:
Melbourne, no Brisbane office
Queensland:
Brokers placed; more searches here than in Victoria (its own count)
Average fill:
27 days
  • Broking focus 10/10
  • Principal fit 10/10
  • Brisbane depth 7/10
  • Evidence 7/10

Total34/40

FinTalent has no Brisbane office and doesn't pretend to. Its founder, Joe Shephard, runs its Queensland searches from Melbourne, and on his own count more of FinTalent's work is now in Queensland than in Victoria. Brisbane depth is 7 rather than higher because there's no office here and no named Queensland client on its site yet. It has a desk that only does mortgage and finance broking, and brokers placed in Queensland, some of them writing books that sit entirely in New South Wales.

The rest of its evidence travels. Strategic Portfolio Partners had a seat another agency held for five weeks and lost at offer. FinTalent had candidates in front of the panel twelve days after terms were signed and an accepted offer at day 42, after reworking the seat so it carried a trail share for a broker who stays.

The terms are retained search, a fee worked off base plus super and a 120-day guarantee. Joe runs every search himself and takes a handful of briefs at a time, so it's the wrong pick for a group hiring a dozen processors across south-east Queensland.

Joe Shephard's verdict: Queensland's broker turnover is 10.2% on MFAA figures, against 6.9% in Victoria. I don't read that as Queensland brokers being flighty. Retention tracks business model, support and culture far more than geography, so a high churn rate usually means more seats were filled on the wrong things. It's the argument in hiring for attitude over experience.

2. Platinum People Group

Focus:
Mortgage broking and third-party banking
Offices:
South Yarra and Sydney, none in Queensland
Live roles:
About 20 across QLD, NSW and VIC (page dated Sep 2025)
Founded:
2017
  • Broking focus 10/10
  • Principal fit 7/10
  • Brisbane depth 3/10
  • Evidence 5/10

Total25/40

Platinum People Group ranks second in Brisbane on focus, not footprint. It has no Queensland office, but its live jobs page lists broking and third-party lending roles in Queensland alongside New South Wales and Victoria, and it's one of only two firms on this list whose business is broking end to end, from brokers and parabrokers to credit analysts and settlements staff.

Its lender and aggregator BDM work makes it useful for a Brisbane brief that sits across the channel. The trade-offs follow it everywhere: testimonials that end in 2020, no SEEK review since June 2024, and a three-person team listed on its site. Ask how it would run a Brisbane search before you sign.

3. Fuse Recruitment

Focus:
Mortgage broking desk inside a multi-sector firm
Brisbane office:
Upper Mount Gravatt
Model:
Permanent and temp, replacement guarantee
SEEK rating:
4.8 from 1,946 reviews, firm-wide (8 Oct 2026)
  • Broking focus 5/10
  • Principal fit 6/10
  • Brisbane depth 5/10
  • Evidence 6/10

Total22/40

The only firm on this list with both a mortgage broking desk and a Brisbane office. Fuse's Queensland base is in Upper Mount Gravatt, and its broking page says it runs a specialist team in Brisbane as well as Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. It covers brokers, credit analysts, broking assistants, loan processors and triage and verification officers, permanent and temp.

If you want a firm with a Brisbane address, this is it, and it's the clear choice for temp cover. Its broking desk is led from Melbourne, though, by Lachie Young, who recruits Brisbane roles from there. That's why Brisbane depth is 5 despite the office, so ask who will actually work your brief.

4. Integrate Recruitment

Focus:
Mortgage broking is one of four core sectors
Base:
Melbourne; Brisbane landing page, no office
Broking roles listed:
15, from parabroker to head of lending
SEEK rating:
4.9 from 111 reviews (8 Oct 2026)
  • Broking focus 6/10
  • Principal fit 7/10
  • Brisbane depth 2/10
  • Evidence 6/10

Total21/40

Integrate has a Brisbane landing page and no Brisbane office; its own site calls it a Melbourne-based agency with a national network, and Brisbane depth of 2 is for exactly that. It's fourth anyway because its broking desk is broad and active: fifteen published roles from parabroker to head of lending, two recent articles on hiring brokers, and 86 SEEK reviews in the past year.

For a Brisbane principal it's a sensible remote search for a credit analyst, a processor or a lending leader. Don't mistake the landing page for local presence.

Brisbane's banking and finance desks

Six firms that recruit lending, credit and BDM roles in Brisbane through a banking practice. They place fifth to tenth on a list weighted for principals; a Queensland lender, a non-bank or a regional bank should read them first.

5. Profusion Group

Desk:
Credit and lending recruitment
Brisbane office:
Riverside Centre, 123 Eagle St
Brisbane purchase:
Zanetti Recruitment and Consulting, 2024
  • Broking focus 4/10
  • Principal fit 4/10
  • Brisbane depth 7/10
  • Evidence 5/10

Total20/40

Profusion has a Brisbane office in the Riverside Centre on Eagle Street, and bought Brisbane wealth recruiter Zanetti Recruitment and Consulting in 2024. Its credit and lending desk recruits BDMs, relationship managers, credit analysts and lending support for banks, brokers, private lenders and non-banks, which makes it the best-equipped lending desk in the city for a Queensland non-bank.

Zanetti was a wealth firm, so read the purchase as a bigger Brisbane presence rather than a broking one. For a brokerage hiring a broker, it's still a lender-side desk.

6. Randstad

Desk:
Banking and financial services
Brisbane office:
Level 19, 345 Queen St
Model:
Permanent, contract and temp
  • Broking focus 3/10
  • Principal fit 3/10
  • Brisbane depth 7/10
  • Evidence 4/10

Total17/40

Randstad runs a dedicated banking and financial services office on Queen Street, and its Queensland page lists Paul Chen, a national account director for the practice. Its banking page is the only global generalist's to name mortgage broking and non-bank lending among the areas it recruits.

That makes it the most broking-aware of the big Brisbane benches, with temp and contract cover a boutique can't offer. It publishes no Queensland broking clients, so use it for support volume and lender hiring rather than a broker search.

7. Bluefin Resources

Desk:
Banking, credit and lending, since 2008
Brisbane:
One of three physical hubs
  • Broking focus 3/10
  • Principal fit 2/10
  • Brisbane depth 6/10
  • Evidence 5/10

Total16/40

Bluefin has a Brisbane hub alongside Sydney and Melbourne, and its practice, led by Paula Price, lists non-bank broker channel specialists and business BDMs among the roles it fills. That tells you what the desk is for.

Bluefin recruits the people who sell to brokerages, not the people who work in them. For a Queensland non-bank building a BDM team, it moves well up this list.

8. TTG Recruitment

Focus:
Banking and finance, mostly commercial banking
Office:
Level 2, 109 Edward St, Brisbane
Founded:
1991, in Brisbane
Owner:
Martin Turner, sole owner since 2003
  • Broking focus 2/10
  • Principal fit 2/10
  • Brisbane depth 9/10
  • Evidence 3/10

Total16/40

The most Brisbane firm on this list. The Turner Group was founded in Brisbane in 1991 to serve the city's banking, finance and professional services sectors, and it's still run from one Edward Street office by Martin Turner, a director since 1991 who spent more than six years as ethics chair on the RCSA's Queensland council.

Its banking work is commercial: relationship managers for Brisbane commercial banking deals of up to $50 million, a credit analyst in specialist lending, a head of credit risk, and a mobile lender on the Gold Coast. It doesn't mention broking. It's ranked for local depth nobody else here matches, and for the banking pool a Brisbane commercial broker hires from.

9. Hays

Desk:
Hays Banking
Queensland:
Banking jobs advertised in Brisbane and the Gold Coast
Offices:
Every state and territory
  • Broking focus 2/10
  • Principal fit 3/10
  • Brisbane depth 6/10
  • Evidence 4/10

Total15/40

Hays advertises banking jobs in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, and its banking desk lists the loan processing, home lending, settlements and credit roles a brokerage hires. It doesn't publish a Queensland banking lead, and its desk page is aimed at banks and financial institutions, though it does take brokerage briefs.

If you're hiring support staff on the Gold Coast, it's a sensible call. For a broker hire it's a generalist desk.

10. Robert Walters

Desk:
Banking and financial services
Offices:
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth
In Australia since:
1996
  • Broking focus 2/10
  • Principal fit 2/10
  • Brisbane depth 8/10
  • Evidence 3/10

Total15/40

Robert Walters puts a named director in charge of banking and financial services in Brisbane: its practice page names Hamish Winterbourn, and no national head. Its Brisbane jobs lean to property lending, including a property finance analyst on deals of $2 million to more than $20 million and a property development relationship manager.

The desk page doesn't mention broking or loan processing. Tenth for a principal hiring a broker, and a strong call for a Brisbane lender's property or commercial team.

Why Brisbane is a hard place to hire a broker

On FinTalent's own count, Queensland is where broking businesses compete hardest for people. It holds 15.7% of the MFAA's state-identified brokers but posted 20.3% of the direct-employer broking ads between February and August 2026, or 51.5 ads per thousand brokers, the highest of the five states the count ranks, ahead of New South Wales at 47.6 and Victoria at 31.8 (The Index, edition one). Credit is busy too. Queensland carried 24 of the 95 credit analyst ads behind our credit analyst hiring guide, second only to New South Wales.

People move more here as well, with turnover at 10.2% against 8.1% nationally. More movement means more candidates in play and more calls to your own brokers. Pay sits below the southern capitals: the salary guide puts a Brisbane broker with two to five years at $85,000 to $105,000 base and a senior broker at $110,000 to $135,000.

Joe Shephard's verdict: A Brisbane brokerage in our research on second advertisements opens its ad by saying it has more leads than brokers to service them, and ran it twice, unchanged. It's a sound ad. In a market this busy, though, the brokers who'd answer it are seeing plenty like it, so the good ones have to be approached directly.

Does a Brisbane brokerage need a Brisbane recruiter?

Less than you'd think, and the choice is narrow anyway, because Fuse is the only firm here with a broking desk and a Brisbane office. Brokers write across state lines, aggregators run nationally, and a Brisbane broker can service a New South Wales book without leaving Queensland. The search happens on the phone and on LinkedIn wherever the recruiter sits.

A local office earns its keep on temp cover and on being in the room for the final interview, which is worth knowing before you choose. It doesn't produce a better broker. The companion lists for Melbourne, Sydney and Perth show how the local field changes city to city.

Joe Shephard's verdict: Some of the brokers I've placed in Queensland write books that sit entirely in New South Wales, and that cuts both ways for a Brisbane principal. Your candidate pool includes Queensland brokers writing for interstate clients, and your own brokers can be hired by a Sydney business without moving house. Broker density won't warn you about either.

Also worth knowing

Michael Page has a Brisbane office and recruits lending and credit roles for banks and non-bank financial institutions; it sits on the national list. Robert Half has a Brisbane office on Eagle Street and recruits credit staff through its financial services practice, but publishes nothing on broking.

TOM People's Banking and Lending practice names mortgage brokers among its roles and holds a Queensland labour hire licence, but its only Australian office is in Sydney. Ethos360, KB Executive Search and Keegan Adams publish no Queensland office. Offshore support providers and the aggregators' banker-to-broker programs aren't recruiters in the sense this list means, so they aren't scored.

How to choose in Brisbane

Decide first whether you need someone in Brisbane or someone who knows broking, because on this list those are mostly different firms. If you need temp cover or a recruiter in the room, Fuse is the only broking desk with a local office. If the hire is a broker, a credit analyst or a senior support seat, judge the specialists on how they handle the brief.

Then ask each firm for its last Queensland broking placement, a named client you can ring, and the period on its guarantee. For a lender or non-bank, the second group is the place to start, and Bluefin is the one whose desk page names broker-channel roles outright.

Joe Shephard's verdict: Queensland candidates are already fielding more approaches per head than anywhere else, going by the job ads we counted for The Index. Put three agencies on your seat and the broker you want hears about it three times in a week, three different ways, and assumes something's wrong with it. One recruiter with a clear run is the only one who can sell your business properly.

How this list is scored

  • Broking focus. How much of the firm's work is mortgage and finance broking. A broking-only firm beats a broking desk inside a generalist.
  • Principal fit. How well the firm suits a principal-led brokerage, where one hire changes the business, rather than a bank or a large group hiring at volume.
  • Brisbane depth. An office in Brisbane, or published placements and clients there, rather than a pin on a map.
  • Evidence. Published proof you can check before you brief anyone: named clients, case studies with numbers, reviews with names on them.

Each firm is scored out of ten on the four criteria above, for a total out of 40. The scores are FinTalent's editorial judgement, made against what each firm publishes about itself, and every card links to the firm's own website so you can check the facts yourself.

FinTalent publishes this list and ranks itself first under these criteria. That's stated here rather than left for you to find out. The criteria are weighted for principal-led brokerages in Brisbane and Queensland hiring brokers, credit analysts and support staff, because that's who this site is for. Brisbane depth rewards a Brisbane office or published Queensland work, and it's held down for firms that run Brisbane searches from Melbourne, FinTalent included, however much Queensland work they do. Firms that also appear on the national list keep the same focus and fit scores, and evidence reflects what a Brisbane principal can actually check. Self-reported numbers are flagged on the cards. If you're a lender, a non-bank or a regional bank, re-rank accordingly: places five to ten are described for exactly that brief.

Nobody paid to be on this list and there's no entry to buy. Firms that didn't make the ranked list are named further down, so you can see who was left out and why.

Questions principals ask

Who is the best mortgage broking recruiter in Brisbane?

FinTalent, for a Queensland brokerage hiring a broker, a credit analyst or senior support. It only does mortgage and finance broking and has placed brokers in Queensland, though it runs Brisbane searches from Melbourne. Platinum People Group is the other broking specialist, also without a Brisbane office. Fuse Recruitment is the broking desk with a Brisbane office and the call for temp cover. For lender roles, Profusion and Randstad have the strongest Brisbane lending desks, Bluefin is the one for broker-channel BDMs, and TTG Recruitment has the longest Brisbane history.

What does a mortgage broker earn in Brisbane?

FinTalent's FY26/27 salary guide puts a Brisbane broker with two to five years at $85,000 to $105,000 base plus super and a senior broker at $110,000 to $135,000, with commission and settlement bonuses on top. A Brisbane credit analyst is $78,000 to $98,000 and a loan processor starting out $58,000 to $72,000.

Why is broker turnover higher in Queensland?

Queensland's broker turnover is 10.2% on MFAA figures, against 8.1% nationally and 6.9% in Victoria. FinTalent's view is that retention tracks business model, support and cultural fit far more than geography, so the gap says more about how seats are filled than about Queensland brokers. Its piece on hiring for attitude sets out the argument.

Can a recruiter in Melbourne run a Brisbane broking search properly?

Yes. Most of a broking search happens on the phone and on LinkedIn, and FinTalent has placed brokers in Queensland from its Melbourne office, including brokers whose books sit in New South Wales. What a Melbourne firm can't give you is temp cover or someone in your Brisbane office for the final interview; if you need either, Fuse Recruitment has an office in Upper Mount Gravatt.
